Description:
Heavy fighting between American and Japanese troops during the war left Rizal Hall shelled and shattered by 1945 (Jose, Samson, and Sabio, 2011). Only the Institute of Radium Therapy in PGH was available for temporary use. When the University had its first postwar academic year, among the first units that reopened were the Colleges of Liberal Arts, Medicine (including the School of Dentistry), Pharmacy, Engineering, Law, and Education, along with the UP High School in Manila, Veterinary Science in Pandacan, and the Agricultural School of Forestry and the Rural High School in Los Banos (Lazaro, 1985).
